Rescued in De Kelders, Bob arrived at the African Penguin and Seabird Sanctuary in November 2015. He had been bitten by a dog just above the eyes, which led to a severe infection on his left side. Some skin loss from the infection gives him the look of having a missing eyebrow. He also has a missing web between the outer two toes on his right foot. Bob isn’t letting anything slow him down.
Bob’s strong spirit has made him a favourite among the team, and his story continues to grow. He has found a partner, Stella, and the two of them are notorious troublemakers during feeding time. They tend to get a bit too excited about food, so our partner often has to separate them to keep the peace and make sure everyone gets their share.
Bob is an excellent example of resilience, character, and the unique personalities that make each penguin in our partner’s care so special.
