Bridges arrived at the African Penguin and Seabird Sanctuary in January 2022 after being found at Danger Point with a dislocated left shoulder caused by a seal bite. The injury left him with limited use of his left flipper, but it never diminished his gentle personality.
He is one of their calmest residents, often choosing to relax in the sunshine and quietly watch the world go by. Bridges is also very fond of his penguin house and becomes surprisingly protective of his space, showing the determined side of his otherwise easygoing nature.
You’ve met Bridges. Now help ensure his future. One penguin. One powerful act of care. When you donate, you’re giving a rescued African penguin the chance to heal, thrive, and waddle with dignity. Your support helps provide nutritious fish, expert veterinary care, enrichment activities, and the daily love that sanctuary life makes possible. It’s the difference between surviving and truly living. And for that one penguin, your gift is everything. Join us in protecting the individuals who carry the future of their species, one beak, one heartbeat, one story at a time.
