Meet Happy Feet

Happy Feet’s story is a tale of love, loss, and new beginnings, told in two unforgettable chapters.

Chapter 1

In 2005, when our partner, Saprec first opened its doors, Pops became their very first rescued African penguin. Just two years later, in 2007, Happy Feet arrived, badly injured, dangerously underweight, and fighting for survival. But from that hardship bloomed something extraordinary.

Happy Feet and Pops found each other. They bonded deeply, becoming inseparable partners and devoted parents. Together, they raised the very first chick ever hatched at Saprec, a little miracle named Storm, born during a thunderous downpour. Over the years, their love endured, and their nest welcomed many strong, healthy chicks that were released into the wild.

Then came 2023. Pops, now elderly, passed away from organ failure. After 16 years side by side, we feared Happy Feet might not recover from the loss. Their bond had been unbroken for over a decade and a half.

Chapter 2

Love and life find a way.

In 2022, Ballot was rescued with a serious eye injury that left him partially blind. By early 2024, something beautiful began to unfold—Ballot and Happy Feet started forming a bond. Our partner watched with hope and joy as a new romance blossomed.

Their first egg was infertile. But then came the miracle: a vibrant, healthy chick, raised with tenderness and teamwork, and named Miracle, of course. Happy Feet and Ballot proved to be incredible parents, and their story became a radiant new chapter in our partner’s journey.

From heartbreak to healing, Happy Feet’s life reminds us that love endures, and life finds a way.
